Pt chev came to May road school

Today we had a amazing visit from point chev school. Their were 4 classer and they came to learn about the life of Pacific. They came to the right place, and we shared our knowledge about our country and we dressed in our cultural costumes. We also had a lovely and wonderful assembly where we sang nice songs. Pt chev school had a dance that they have learnt. Then we went back and got created. We made drawings that showed off our country. We had a great time

Eat your words

Today we had a eat your words lessons and we did a game. We also had another game called taste the food . We had a number 1 person and person 2 and we had to get in to 2's and then  the person that had number one they had a blindfolded and they had to taste the food in the blow. I learnt that a  peanut is not a nut it is a  legume and I also learnt that a avocado is not a vegetable it is a fruit. If you see close you will see me in the red jacket. The food that I didn't like was the onion and the green beans. YUCK!!

Athletics day

On Friday we went to do athletics and we had fun some people made the team and some people did not make it but they try they best and I made it in the team so the zones are on Tuesday and I am exited.

The big chase

The Chase!!!!

It started as a lovely and wonderful day. The autumn leaves were flying down from the huge and tall tree above me. I came out of my little hole in the big oak tree, searching for some big and tasty nuts to eat. As I was eating my nut, I felt I was being spied on and when I was looking around, the leaf strewn forest I was right ! I was been spied on this whole time, so I knew that my day would be bad.

When I looked around I saw this BIG bird and his eyes looked like fear and his wings were spread and I knew that he was looking for lunch!

When the bird was on the tall tree he started to fly as fast as he could and  I ran like the wind. I jumped and I hopped and I ran and I took pride in myself. I was running as fast as I could when I had to climbed this big tree, I felt that I was rock climbing.

When I reach the top I found this drey and I SUPERPOWER, jumped into the nest and I thought I had lost him.

I took a big ,huge breath in and out two times and sat in the nest for five seconds

panting hard!  And then I felt this BIG shake. I was holding on so tight and then the Big bird shook the drey harder. I felt that I was in a pool of leaves and sticks. I felt pressure because of the danger I am having.

Then I fell from the dry through the air onto the piled up sticks and leaves on the forest floor. I thought that he was done and he had given up but he was not finished with me. He launched himself off the dry and started to fly. I ran faster than four children in a cross country race.

I ran up a big tree and I saw this branch. I had to get across this space to a tree on the other side. I believed myself and I jumped like a kangaroo all the way to the other side. When I was at the other side I felt that I was brave but when I looked back he was still flying after me!  Left and right, up and down, around and around, darting and dodging,the bird flew  up, down and around as I jumped up and around.

When I saw my little hole with my big and tasty nut store inside  I raced to it and I was trying to get inside,but I was too big and then I pressed hard and I fell into my small hole with my nut inside I saw the BIG bird coming closer and then I hid screwed up as tight as a ball so he could not see me. Then I opened one eye and I saw his shiny and sharp claws on the edge of my little hole. He shook it like he was the big bad wolf and then after he shook it about five times he gave up, and  flew away tired and angry and disappointed also hungry.

I rolled back so I was a squirrel again and when I looked out of my little hole I saw that Big bird was flying away and I had BIG day!

I was so lucky not to be the bird’s lunch.  

Next time I have to be more careful where I eat.

SAFE AT LAST!! PHEW!

Cross country

WOW! Are you tired? I   just finished doing cross country around the school and the streets . As I was waiting for my turn to run I heard everyone, banging their clappers and shouting. When it was my turn I felt happy because I waited for long. ON YOU MARKS,GET SET, GO!!
When I was  running my heart was about to fall. I try my best and I came 5th . I was so proud.
But even my friend got hurt I know that I am proud of her.

Dining out in maths

In maths we have been learning about area and perimeter. I learnt that the area can change but the perimeter stay the same. This is the big table and the area was 25 square units and the perimeter was 20 square units.Also I learnt that the area is the space inside the table and the perimeter is the outline of the table.

Frozen

In the snowy corner of a frozen  land there is  a funny snowman called Olaf and he lives with his friends.

His  rock buttons look  like the the rocks on the ground he finds on the way to his friends. His long  brown stick hair blows  into the wind But when he  walks he jumps joyfully with his long light  brown stick arms.

His friends  think he is cute and very kind and friendly. He always smiles with happiness and he is fun. By the way, he loves to tell jokes and he  is very funny

Everyday he like to help people and loves warm hugs and dances around and skip around in the frozen land. By the way he love to play with new people.

He makes new friends but he gets in TROUBLE sometimes.                                             

The most person I love in the world is my Nana!!!!!

The most person I love in the world is my Nana she die because she had no air.So she made a choice and her choice was going to die,still in my heart.

She had pretty nice short and grey hair and she had cute,beautiful brown eyes.And she was tall and skinny and she had wear like a dress that she made and she will wear flat shoes and like old fashioned things and she will always wear a picture of me on her t-shirt.And she was really big like my dad.And she will put her hair in a nice ponytail.

She was really loving and really caring and she will be warm and really kind and really cheerful. Really proud and happy and nice and she was very smart and she was a very funny and she was cool and she is great,she is really OPEN MINDED and she was very risk taker.She was always positive and she was really respectful and OPEN HEARTED too and sometimes lonely and outstanding.

She was always giving me warm big hugs and she was a very good cook and she was a great reader and she will always look after me, my sister, brother when we were kids.  Whenever we had sores she will make them better and she will always help us,  she will always tell us funny jokes like “what is long and brown”the whole family will giggle and she love all her grand kids. And.And she help us with our homework  we loved her and she loved me too and she loves her kids just the way she love me.She always looked after me when I was born to age 6.Also she will pray for me when I am sick or lost, that I will be healed or be found.She is very touching when she is singing and she was a great singer too.

I know that she is always in my heart and I know that she loves me and her grand kids and her kids,but I know that she is proud and I know that she is looking over me and she is happy where I am now. She die when I was six I was not there to see her, and I still love her and I know that she love me.

Why do we have day and night?

Why do we have day and night?

Do you know what cause day and night? It cause by  the earth rotates around on it axis.A axis is an invisible line.The line is not up and down it is lying  on its side.And it is from the west and East.

  

The earth takes 24 hours to complete one full spin or turn every day. It is caused by the slide that is facing the sun is day and the other slide is facing not facing the sun is night. For example USA and India are on the opposite side of the earth ,and if USA is facing the sun that means it is morning in the USA and that Indian is night.

The earth is spinning so fast that we can't feel a thing spinning cause we a gravity.The side that is facing the sun is morning and the other side that is not facing the sun is night, that means if NZ is facing the sun the opposite of the earth is night.Do you know what orbit means.Orbit is other word for around it means that the earth is spining around or orbiting the sun with others.

I have something to say,why do we see the sun will it is day time.Do you know that you can see the moon at night and day.
